Moments of Bliss
This last Saturday I gathered up my courage, raised my vibration, regaled with a smile, and armed with a white poster board sign written in simple black marker that read “FREE HUGS”; I displayed myself among the public ready to spread some joy.
Driving up to my destination I could feel the butterflies frantically flittering about looking for an exit from my nerve knotted abdomen. Half crazed with excitement and fear I kept thinking “it’s not too late to turn around”, justifying any reason to change my plans. But my resistance fueled my persistence; I wanted so much to live in the moment of love that my thoughts on their own started running through all kinds of positive scenarios. Before I knew it my beloved had me pulled up right along side the place where I would pass out merriment and quickly I jumped out of the car before the drunk monkey in my head could convince me otherwise. Straightaway I offered up hugs to the three young gentlemen standing in front of me. With much skepticism they agreed to a hug and smiled as I flew by them to a more central part of the area better suited for passing out free hugs to everyone walking by.
Better placed among the crowd my throat tightend and the nerves once again set in but I just kept a smile on my face and voiced graciously ”I’m offering free hugs tonight, would you like a free hug?” and little by little with each hug given the energy of the place resonated in joy. The happiness was contagious! Onlookers stared in amazement some people even curious enough to ask me if they could get a hug. At one point a big circle hug was formed and lines were made from people waiting their turn to get a hug.
This was such an inspiring and thrilling experience; knowing that I was able to generate a macrocosm of happiness from a microcosm of gifting a simple little hug. Even better, knowing that I could influence great joy with out the involvement of money. I guess the “Bliss” things in life really are FREE!!!

Oh Kate, I love you too! And have a wonderful time at dinner tonight!
I feel so inspired by The Bliss Fairy’s “Free Hugs” story! I would love to do something like that in my little town, but the right idea hasn’t called to me yet! I’m keeping myself open, though, so when it does call I will hear it loud and clear!
My Everyday Magic:
Being back here to this magical place after being gone so long!
Reading everybody’s true confessions from yesterday! How refreshing it is to see that I’m not as “different” as I thought I was! I have many of the same secrets (and will be willing to share when Kate feels compelled to ask for confessions again)
)
Completely emptying my closet, dusting and vacuuming it, and going
through everything that was in it. I piled everything on and around our bed, and Hubby and I donated a lot, threw away some, and then organized and put back what we were keeping. I bought new, wooden hangers (instead of the cheap, plastic ones I’d had for years), some canvas suit and dress bags to protect the things we don’t wear everyday, and a couple of nice smelling closet deodorizers, and it is now a joy to walk in my closet! So liberating!!
Making a new recipe that everyone loved; my husband said it tasted gourmet, and continued to comment about it throughout the evening! I wrote that recipe down!
Hubby and I have kind of “re-committed” ourselves to each other over the past year or so. We’re making an effort to focus more on ourselves as a couple. We’ve been married for 16 years, and you know how it is, children, jobs, paying bills, and running a household can cloud the reasons why you got married in the first place. A lot of our friends are divorced, or already on their second (or third) marriages, and we’ve vowed to do whatever it takes to “stick together”. That is the best magic I could ask for. I definitely subscribe to Sparkle Mission #2 on a daily basis!
Jenny!!! You’re ALWAYS missed when you’re away! Fabulous magic ~ I think I want to move into your closet!! And I just love reading about you and T and your magical marriage!!! I love you!!!
I love your story, Bliss! How wonderful and inspiring.
I love yesterday’s magic. I missed it yesterday but may go post there today just because it is so fabulous!

Actually going out with only women and no kids Monday night and can’t wait!
The endless challenges that the universe gives to me!
Love the phrase and knew my hubby could relate to a line in a movie last night. The husbnad and wife had had a not so smooth past and there is question as to weather the wife even really truly loved the husband and she, in older age asked if she ruined his life nad his sweetness and I think how my husband feels sometimes that he ‘knew marrying her was going to be a coin toss’ He just tried to be there for her and stay out of her way all at the same time. It really was true love!! Just like me and my husband.
Loved true confessions yesterday and realized I have a lot I am no where near ready to confess and as I do it will bring me closer to my authentic real self to everyone and I like that freeing feeling.
I’m LOVING that feeling too!! I feel like a changed person ~ the REAL ME!!
wow – go mama! you must have really been giving love! i’ve seen (and hugged) people offering free hugs around street fairs in town, but usually they do not rally a crowd like that!

Summer!
Still in awe of this wonderful neighborhood we moved into!
My son riding his bike with friends, running down the street in the twilight, playing, joyously greeting the dog he got to walk the other day… he is thriving here!
Running errands by.my.self. whild my neighbor kept an eye on my boy
the wonderful cashier at Staples who told me how to get the card that gives me money back without being bombarded with emails, and agreed with my refusal of a plastic bag.
Smiling into the eyes of the cashiers in the other stores I visited.
making some progress in organizing my new home
My landlord, who is moving out of the downstairs apt., leaving us the pooper scooper that’s in the garage, saying we’ll need it! I think I’m nearly as excited as my boy about getting our dog next spring!
