My Magic
* Really happy we had friends over yesterday ~ who brought champagne! ~ it changed the feel of the day.
* Hubby made Hungarian Goulash for dinner and even though it sounds weird it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! He and I and baby gobbled it up and went for more. We are so happy there are enough leftovers for dinner tonight. YUM!!!
* Hot tub under the stars! I saw two shooting stars!
* Hot lovin’ with hubby!
* Starting a new book and I think it’ll be good. Now that I’m not sleeping with baby (most nights) I’m staying up to read and it’s one of my favorite times of the day.
* Yesterday was a shitty day ~ not emotionally, but literally and physically! I woke up to dog shit on my office rug (which she never does) and before bed I noticed the cat had shit on my bedroom rug (which he never does). In between that, I spent close to an hour cleaning up dog poop in my yard and it was foul, foul, foul. (Hope you aren’t eating while reading.) The good part in all this: I didn’t like my office rug and since it’s now stained, I got to order a super awesome new rug from Overstock for a GREAT price! I’m also very, very committed to walking our dog on a DAILY basis so there is less shit in my yard. I haven’t figured out the good in the cat shit…I’m thinking he just wanted to fit in.
* The baby’s diaper leaked this morning and there was shit in my closet! This isn’t magic but it’s making me laugh and I’m SURE it’s not an indication of another shitty day….though I do have to finish cleaning up the dog poop in the yard…ugh, I don’t want to think about it right now….okay! Moving on from shit magic…
* Going to the gym this morning with my boys and friends!
* I’m not too psyched about the alleged snow storm tomorrow messing up my Friday plans but….we’ll make the best of it.
* Looking forward to dinner!

Had a conversation in the car with the kid yesterday……mom..what are turds? I thought that kinda fit in with today post. So we had a discussion on the different things that poop is called. And he was very puzzled as to why if shit is just another word for poop….why is it a bad word.

*got lots done today, including prepping my taxes and working letters of reference and cover letters!
*i have applied for a few jobs, but mostly have just been making contacts and emailing my resume to connections, but today, i prepped my resume and linkedin and with my cover letter inspiration under my belt, i’m ready to spend some time applying to awesomeness!

*i’m allowing myself to feel good about the nice things i am saying about myself in the letter of reference i am writing to give to my boss to embellish.

Sounds like yesterday you were on poppy patrol. i remember on our old forum in my profile where it said “occupation” I wrote Poppy Patrol because I had a toddler at the time and a kitty that consistently missed the box. Well, shit happens.

Long walk with boy and dog. I love walking and talking with my boy.
My son is doing so well with reading, and is a natural with math.
Our cat’s vet who comes to the house… she is so wonderful, it’s always a pleasure to see her! And the cats love her: they come right out to see her when she arrives.
My son willingly taking the dog for a walk when kitty doc arrived, so we could have some peace. (the dog has a very loud bark and is suspicious of people he hasn’t met before coming to our home)
Then some quiet time to myself!
Visiting with my friend L, while ds and dog were visiting with her boys and dog. Everybody was happy.
Anticipating snow! Seems like it will be a big storm. Given that I had to cancel my plans for tomorrow night, it had better be a big, fun storm!
dh has tomorrow off. We’ll just run a couple pre-storm errands and be all set for a long weekend!
