The Rainbow Faery

My Everyday Magic

The simple things in life are usually the most magical!

*My favorite: Dewdrops on a flower petal or leaf in the early morning

*Silence…a rare thing for me these days, so simple and SOO magical

*Rhythms…of all kinds

*Water. Doesn’t get much simpler than this one. And oh how magical and life-giving it is!

*The colors that mother nature gives: Okay maybe this one is actually kind of complicated, but how nature delivers in such effortlessness, simple and exact beauty!

*Breathing

More Magic:

*Happy birthday to our Flirty Fairy, and I know you are LOVIN’ the Uplevel Your Purpose retreat!! I will be tuning in to the live webcast today, hopefully I’ll “see” you!! SO wish I could be there, but knowing someone awesome is there to represent me, I am honored and feel a bit better. Lol.

*Lots of decluttering, cleaning. organizing, and upleveling of R’s new place (his grandma’s house)

*My boys lovin’ their visiting grandma

*Transitions, living on the leading edge, enjoying the uncertainty of what’s yet to be… so exciting! (Okay sometimes its nervewracking and overwhelming, but thats really only when I am resisting just letting go and flowing, trusting)

*More progress on my new website as Creative Indeed, come check it out (its still in progress, so I’m not taking critiques yet, LOL)

*Allowing.

*Just lovin’, livin’ and laughin’. Love you all, have a beautiful day!

Moments of Bliss: All you need is LOVE! 7/17/2011 July 17, 2011

Bliss Fairy giving a Little Hug

Moments of Bliss: All you need is LOVE!

This last Friday on the Aquarius Full Moon I set out on a sparkle mission to offer up FREE HUGS in my community. Some of you may recall an older post of mine where I made my first go at giving out free hugs. The big difference between that last adventure and this one was that this time I wasn’t alone.

Using the magic of the social network I sent out an invite to all my facebook friends to meet me at a local tourist hot spot on our island. Although I had another motive in choosing this area… to gift some hugs to the majority of  Guam’s Japanese tourist and with that I was looking to especially show my support to Japan post Earthquake and Tsunami disaster. The support we gave wasn’t of anything monetary but rather the simple gesture of hugging a stranger for no other reason than just because. I am continually surprised by how this little act of love can bring so much light and joy to a person’s heart, how in letting go to the moment the soul is filled with so much hope and promise. My face still hurts from all the smiling and laughing that went on that night. Watching all the happy faces was intoxicating! I had this event planned to last an hour but we were having so much fun that we all decided to keep pushing on for another 2 hours.

Before the event, the day had been really stormy as there was a tropical depression passing over our tiny island but I kept telling myself It didn’t matter I would find a way to still give out hugs as it just felt so appropriate to give them out on this day, and you know what…. Not a drop fell on us during the time we were offering up hugs to people. It did however sprinkle across the street from us but the rain just passed us by and after we were done a big down pour set in. I would like to believe that for three hours the magic of the Aquarian full moon that night kept the skies clear  just for us to be able to spread joy in our community, brightening up the world for even just a little while.

At some point in our adventure we decided to all walk through DFS a high end department store in the heart of  Guam’s tourism district. Going through the store we weren’t sure if we would have a warm welcome as this place is known for it’s atmosphere of propriety. Instead this place turned out to have the best huggers of the night especially from the store clerks who would crane their necks to see what the comotion was all about. Then at some point the store manger came out to ask if he could take a group picture of us and also requested we keep moving about the store and was told to ” keep spreading the love”.

I would have to say that this sparkle mission was most definitely accomplished!!! But for me the moment of bliss in all this was seeing my 4 year old being so eager to share the joy! (((HUGS))) is all you need!

Moments of Bliss: My Sparkle Magic 6/17/11 June 17, 2011

Bliss with the "Sparkle" Magic touch.

Moments of Bliss: My Sparkle Magic

Had another one of those moments where I had left my toddler to her own creations and got quite the creative mess! And with glitter, the hardest of all crafting messes to clean up after. Evidence of this twinkling art supply can be found for days, weeks, even months after the specs have been collected, poured back into their container, or moved on to a journey into the waste bin. But there is always something quite humbling when you are talking to a stranger or walking up to a cashier and you catch that glint of pink on their cheek or that flash of sparkle flecked in an eyelash. I can’t help but imagine that person at home creating with a little one taking the time to have a moment of bliss. Or like in my case that person was taken by surprise with a glitter fireworks display across the kitchen table! I must admit at first glance I was livid! But all that sparkle and all that magic… in it’s chaos was quite beautiful and whilst cleaning up the coating of shimmering speckles, my hand gloved in Sparkle Magic, caught me in another moment of my own bliss. And I smiled all the while as my little one and I joked about how much work cleaning up glitter was!

This “Sparkle” Magic is dedicated  to our Dearest Sparkle Fairy, a bliss moment so perfectly timed within our Sparkles birthday month!!!

Note from the Rainbow Faery:

As we faeries like to do, we get quite mischievous in our posting habits some times! The above (BEAUTIFUL) post by the Bliss Faery was a stand in for our dear Sunshine Faerie…and then her computer wouldn’t let her back on to finish and send off the post! So here I am, your Rainbow Faery, fillin’ in with/for Bliss and Sunshine Faeries to spread lots of beautiful, chaotic, perfectly timed sparkly magic!

Rainbow and Bliss Faery, on one of our few nights out together! And *ahem, if I do say so myself, I think we are both pretty sparkly in this photo. lol

I’d like to add some magic that I see in our dear Bliss Faery, as I love and cherish her so much!

*She feels with all her being

*She is SO talented and brilliant, and never runs out of ideas. She’s helped me come up with more than one of my business names!

*She is a loving and authentic mother. I for one would probably just be livid about glitter being everywhere. As artsy as I am, I admit I am quite resistant to art projects with my kids. I admire the Bliss Faery’s (and her husband’s too) willingness to let their children have hands-on fun with all the fun and messy things in life.

*She is wonderful friend that I know I can turn to, and Indeed, I have.

What a blessing to get to jump in and shake things up a little in our magical world! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Friday (since on Guam it is Saturday by the time you all are reading this, I am happy to report that Friday was/is great!). What’s sparkling in your life lately?

Come and share in the comments below and watch how the magic grows!

The Rainbow Faery

My Everyday Magic

*3 days spent in Rota this weekend (a small island near Guam) for the annual Memorial Day sailboat race, SO relaxing and a much needed break!

*Checked out some fully self-sufficient homes/gardens while in Rota, and am SO inspired.

*My home being clean!

*Consistently working on my business and creativity (they are one and the same really)

*Finding lots of time to myself lately! My boys are definitely getting bigger and are more comfortable spending time with other people. What a relief, a bittersweet one though. ;-)

*Yummy food…lots of greens, fresh fruit, whole grains, fresh fish, and more!

*Music and dance. Two key things to unlocking my creativity.

*Asking myself (and answering) some burning questions, gaining more clarity.

*Making requests rather than complaining.

*Graceful authenticity!

*Training a new employee at the store.

*My skin is smooth and glowing right now!

*Feeling connected…to people, the earth, my soul…

*The white ginger flowers in a glass mug on my table, making my whole house smell like heaven!

*Pickled mango.

*Remembering how much I love being in the water, swimming and moving around!

Love you all! What is making you smile?

GlowFairy, with love

~*Connection Magic*~

I’m feeling quite connected and it’s coming from varying avenues that tingle my brain, as I like to say. Anyone else?
The extra magic comes unexpectedly and I’m finding that it helps me appreciate the subtle magic, too!

* enjoying the few days T came to visit!
(contemporary art, appreciating the city, local brews, local food, new people, and nothingness = awesome!)
* the sound of hard rain on the windows
* M telling me, “I got yo back!” <3
* the birds hoppin around outside between rainfall (it’s kinda cute)
* a good lead from T’s mom
* my mom & her saying the right thing
* making a great meal for dinner last night ;) [& I'm not the only one who thought so. yay]
* having to stop this post often to check the lyrics of the songs playing (electric rock/vocal harmony type stuff) sooo good! ahhh!
* left overs for lunch!
* how blessed I feel to have these things ^

Connected to people, the arts (music & visual), & just being in nature however little or often it comes has really brought me to a place of connecting to me ~ surrounded by things and people I enjoy feels like a personal gift from the universe.  I’m feeling my senses renew & it’s a beautiful place to be :)

Please share the beauty that has come into your life today! Any particular affinity to anything?!

~*My CONNECTION Magic*~

Apparently, I need to take my own advice! Sometimes I forget.
“Breathe.”
“Free your mind…”
But when I finally did, I was reminded of the connections that grant me many blessings.
& that when I’m not being blessed, I’m probably barking up the wrong tree.

My Connection Magic:

[people connection]
* another surprise care package from home (just when I needed some comfort!)
* best friends who act as personal cheerleaders w/o being provoked
* old friends randomly poppin up (some people were just meant to stick around :) )

[creative connection]
* first meeting of a new project!
* receiving necessary materials to continue an old project!
* a good friend helping me w/ a career lead and giving some great advice! (more magic in that it was unsolicited)
* ^ she also shared some new tunes w/ me that I hadn’t heard before.

All of this has made me feel more connected to the universe.
Let’s just say she really heard me, hugged me in the wind, then threw all of that ^ at me.

What magical moments have got you feeling connected? (whether it be to yourself, your loved ones, or the world around you)

Share your love with us today! & have a blessed Wednesday :)

Flirting with EVERYONE Magic! January 22, 2011

Filed under: "Connection" Magic — flirtyfairy @ 2:20 am

The Flirty Fairy kicks up her heels!

Oh, what a magical night I’ve had, Fairy Friends! I went to a concert/Kirtan (call and response singing) at my yoga studio, and I met SO. MANY. COOL. PEOPLE. The Flirty Fairy was out in full force! I flitted around and networked and flirted with EVERYONE there! The guy who performed, who serendipitously teaches yoga right near where I actually live, which is far from my yoga “home”; a chiropractor who works on a lot of pregnant women and babies, who I am going to ask to do an evaluation I need for my certification; and his girlfriend, a grant writer and fellow yoga teacher who is going to help me start a program for doula services for teen moms; another awesome chick who wants to start a drum circle with me; a prenatal yoga teacher I networked with who wants me to talk to her class; a girl I actually grew up with and we knew a bunch of the same people; and of course all my favorite yoginis! Also, I brought knitting and tons of people asked me about it and complimented me on it! I left so high on life!!

Next time you’re somewhere with lots of people, especially like-minded ones, flirt with everyone!! You never know what you might turn up :)

Other Magic this week!

~My girl being INCREDIBLY adorable and sweet – she makes pretend smoothies in her toy blender and we each get one, and she squinches up her eyes and smiles real big and says, “I lubba snoobies!!” (I love smoothies, to those not fluent in Toddler ;) ) . Or when she says, “Denon… it’s Hair Hockey time!!” (air hockey) or any of the other million adorable things she does

~Disco fries at the diner!

~Meeting and working with a new family next week and some sweet newbie twins!

~An awesome yoga class with my mom!

~Going to see my favorite band tomorrow and feeling the same rush of musical-spiritual-energetic excitement that I had at the Kirtan tonight!

~My sister being way less stressed and therefore, way more fun!!

~Hangin’ out with my online besties so much more :)

What’s YOUR magic this weekend?

My Everyday Connection Magic 1/18/11 January 18, 2011

Rainbow Faery

Whew! What a weekend. I must say, I am burnt out, literally (sunburn) and figuratively. I am grateful for the fresh start that I am given in each day, and that no matter how far down I go, I am always given another chance to start anew. Every single day. Every single moment for that matter!

I am choosing this “starting over” of sorts, to CONNECT. First, with me. Who am I? I’m not sure, and I’m okay with that, because I love Me no matter what. Connecting with myself means connecting with spirit, with something bigger than I, something that is looking out for my higher good especially when I don’t have the energy to do it for myself. And I want to reconnect with my family. I threw a big tantrum this weekend, and I’m okay with it, but I know I went a little too far and that my family feels a bit distanced from me (which is okay too, but I’m ready to reconnect if they are).

I spent a lot of time journaling about the rough stuff, and that plays a big part in me being able to Connect. Another key part of me being able to connect (VERY key!) is recognizing what makes life magical, regardless of the contrast that is at play… so here goes:

My Everyday Magic

*Allowing my boys and their dad to have fun all weekend surfing, skateboarding, and bike riding with friends.

*For all the nourishing meals that my love has been making for us…thank God because I’ve been so lazy when it comes to feeding myself and the kids.

*Releasing a lot of hurt and pain this weekend that I didn’t know I was holding in.

*Sensing a LOT of releasing going on in many peoples lives right now. What that release looks like seems to be radically different with each unique experience, but I also sense Spirit alongside it all.

*Allowing contrast to push me to make much needed changes.

*Just being.

*Grace, my word of the year…manifesting itself in such big and unexpected ways this year. And we aren’t even through with January yet!

*Allowing myself to feel scared, and to move forward anyway.

*Forgiving myself.

*Tea

*Feeling thankful that other moms/friends were around at the surf spot/park that I took the boys to all weekend long. I would have totally lost it otherwise. =)

Come and share some of your magic in the comments below, and know that whatever makes your list is just fine, because its YOUR magic.

My Everyday Connection Magic 12/7/10 December 7, 2010

Rainbow Faery (and Bliss Faery peaking)

Connection!

I loved the “connection magic” so much last week that I am doing it again! What are you feeling  connected to these days? If you have been feeling more on the disconnected side, what are you feeling called to connect to?

My Everyday Magic

*Feeling connected to ME. When I feel distant from the world around me, it feels good to connect with ME.

*Appreciating INTERconnectedness.

*Feeling connected to plant medicine, even if I don’t practice my ideals, I still feel connected and thats what counts.

*Connection with the earth! Just sitting outside on my doorstep connects me with the earth. Swimming in the ocean and gardening connect me instantly. Sitting in the sand, grass, dirt or on the roots of a tree make me feel oh-so-connected. Looking at the moon, the sky, the clouds…feeling the wind. Ahhhhh………

*Connection with others, while honoring my personal boundaries.

*I am pretty much done with my first semester back at school after 6 years out (and two kids later lol)…I made it through and it feels good! I am so not your typical college student, lol.

*This weekend is my birthday and I have no idea what to do?? Dunno why thats on my magic list, lol but it is. Maybe just going with the flow?

*I was on TV! Check me out HERE (yup, I’m vain. lol.) (hope that link works, its a facebook link)

*Going to all the places that sell Christmas trees to get leftover branches to make our house smell good with homemade garlands…for FREE! =)

*MUSIC!!! I LOVE music.

*Soup. I LOVE soup.

*Wine. I LOVE wine.

What magic are you connecting with these days? What or who do you wish to connect to? What’s making you smile? And part of connecting with YOURSELF is being honest about how you feel and where you are at. Only then can we embrace it and shift our perspective. For me, a big part of connecting is just BEING. =) I love you all.
