*Yummy food magic, fresh foods that nourish, yummy nutritious comfort, life-giving food!

*Feeling like I’ve just floated through this Mercury retrograde so far. Its not about keeping chaos at bay, its about how you navigate through it, at least that is what I’ve been experiencing recently.   

*Things are coming together for this year’s Luna Festival, I am sooo excited! And so far, aside from my little (and big) worries, its been quite effortless, and I feel quite aligned with it. Key is to feel it out.

*OHHH! You all must watch So You Think You Can Dance! Marko Germar is from Guam and we are all feeling so proud on our little island (well I can’t speak for everyone, but its so cool to have someone from Guam get so far in a national competition, and to make Lady Gaga cry! *Feeling “domestic”, hanging laundry, doing dishes, doing some yardwork and cleaning, fixing… 

*My boys are moving into new transitions as well, with one starting Kindergarten, and one going to the preschool that is on our street. R is starting another semester at the University here, he’s a junior now and majoring in Applied Tropical Agriculture. He’s been learning SO much about plants, the environment, sustainable agriculture practices, etc. and I just love it! 

Lots of love and light to all, and may everyday be remembered not by it’s challenges, but by the magic that happened regardless of the challenges!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

We are all healers. I learned this when I was very little, when I first picked up my mom’s copy of All Women Are Healers. Here on My Everyday Magic, we may not always realize it, but the accumulative effect of recognizing the everyday things that delight us is a profoundly healing practice. I cannot say enough of how grateful I am, on the worst days, to be able to look back in my MEM journal and see how much magic there is every single day, despite what challenges, pain, or fear comes along. It gives me strength and confidence, enough to acknowledge and honor my pain for its purpose, and then to move forward toward what brings me joy, and more importantly, RELIEF.

I’d like to dedicate this post to everyone in the world (and beyond) who is feeling out of sorts, in pain, in a rut, challenged, struggling, or paralyzed by fear.

I’d like to send out a wave of energy, a message of hope, and healing. We are all healers, we are more than this body, this challenge, this fear, this pain. It is just one aspect of our lives, showing us more of who we are. Let us find the strength and courage to ask for help when we need it, to give ourselves what we need when we need it, and to help others when we are able.

Here are some fun, creative  ways to approach healing: (please add your own favorite healing practices, rituals, remedies, and let the magic abound!)

*Stopping to breathe

*Drinking water, bathing in water, especially close to the earth, as in the sea, or a lake, river, etc…

*Relaxing in the sun and visualizing white/gold pure radiant energy surrounding me, penetrating my whole being with positive healing

*Smiling, and laughing!

*Massage

*Creating intuitive art. Just paint. anything.

*Free-flowing intuitive dance. Just move. Feel good.

*Herbal tinctures, especially homemade!

*Lots and lots of leafy greens!

*Pure coconut oil, raw apple cider vinegar, bentonite clay, elderberry extract, garlic, ginger, lemon (actually I prefer calamansi!), and moringa leaves!

Moments of Bliss: All you need is LOVE! 

This last Friday on the Aquarius Full Moon I set out on a sparkle mission to offer up FREE HUGS in my community. Some of you may recall an older post of mine where I made my first go at giving out free hugs. The big difference between that last adventure and this one was that this time I wasn’t alone.

Using the magic of the social network I sent out an invite to all my facebook friends to meet me at a local tourist hot spot on our island. Although I had another motive in choosing this area… to gift some hugs to the majority of  Guam’s Japanese tourist and with that I was looking to especially show my support to Japan post Earthquake and Tsunami disaster. The support we gave wasn’t of anything monetary but rather the simple gesture of hugging a stranger for no other reason than just because. I am continually surprised by how this little act of love can bring so much light and joy to a person’s heart, how in letting go to the moment the soul is filled with so much hope and promise. My face still hurts from all the smiling and laughing that went on that night. Watching all the happy faces was intoxicating! I had this event planned to last an hour but we were having so much fun that we all decided to keep pushing on for another 2 hours.

Before the event, the day had been really stormy as there was a tropical depression passing over our tiny island but I kept telling myself It didn’t matter I would find a way to still give out hugs as it just felt so appropriate to give them out on this day, and you know what…. Not a drop fell on us during the time we were offering up hugs to people. It did however sprinkle across the street from us but the rain just passed us by and after we were done a big down pour set in. I would like to believe that for three hours the magic of the Aquarian full moon that night kept the skies clear  just for us to be able to spread joy in our community, brightening up the world for even just a little while.

At some point in our adventure we decided to all walk through DFS a high end department store in the heart of  Guam’s tourism district. Going through the store we weren’t sure if we would have a warm welcome as this place is known for it’s atmosphere of propriety. Instead this place turned out to have the best huggers of the night especially from the store clerks who would crane their necks to see what the comotion was all about. Then at some point the store manger came out to ask if he could take a group picture of us and also requested we keep moving about the store and was told to ” keep spreading the love”.

I would have to say that this sparkle mission was most definitely accomplished!!! But for me the moment of bliss in all this was seeing my 4 year old being so eager to share the joy! (((HUGS))) is all you need!

The Sparkle Fairy!

My Everyday WEEKEND Magic!

(The weekends are a little slow here on MEM these days so I’m giving myself a break and combining Saturday and Sunday ~ I’ll be sure to post both days though! ;) )

* A WONDERFUL mid-day date with my beloved yesterday where we traveled to beautiful Mystic and Stonington.

* My hubby got a GREAT reading from our favorite psychic at Mystical Horizons ~ which validated everything he’d been thinking himself and gave us both some confidence! Thank Goddess!

* Hearing my hubby talk with new-found confidence and faith ~ one of my absolute FAVORITE things!!!!

* A DELICIOUS lunch at the Dog Watch Cafe yesterday ~ salad and roasted-red-pepper-and-smoked-gouda bisque. YUM!!!!! (Oh, and hubby’s french fries were delicious too!)

* My beloved bought me a beautiful necklace yesterday that I just LOVE and can’t take off ~ I even slept with it. I’ve decided it’s definitely my “Birthing Necklace.”

* I found a perfect “Birthing Candle Holder” at Mystical Horizons ~ it’s a purple Goddess with the Earth behind her. I love it!

* Starting out my day finding the PERFECT birthing music, then finding the PERFECT candle holder, and my beloved gifting me with the PERFECT birthing necklace! I feel so blessed!!!!!!!!

* Taco night with my boys which makes us all happy!

* A fun family hot-tub!

* Chocolate ice-cream cones for dessert!

* Going out to breakfast RIGHT NOW for a change of pace!

* All this GREAT MAGIC after a GREAT DAY!!!!

“Higher Vibrational” Magic!

I held a lovely little ceremony for myself last night, where I wrote down all my self-limitations that I’m ready to release and then replaced them with some affirmations of what I’m currently creating. I burned the list of limitations, pulled some Angel cards, and received some lovely messages.

Yesterday morning actually turned out to be dramatic and stressful, but I kept my wits about me and (with the help of some dear friends) was able to turn it around. I could see the gifts and messages in the drama, while also realizing what was real and what wasn’t. Feeling peaceful after such a dramatic start felt amazing and topping it all off with my ceremony felt absolutely blissful. I have to say that after yesterday I feel I reached a slightly higher vibration ~ one where I just “know and flow” without having to force things and figure them out. It’s quite a feeling!

What puts you in a higher vibration?

My Everyday Magic

* Friends who tell me exactly what I need to hear when I need to hear it.

* My children who give me spontaneous hugs and “I love you’s,” and my 3 year old who tells me “You’re the best mama in the world.”

* My husband and soulmate ~ who went to the store for me yesterday and made me lunch and dinner and always, always says the right thing.

* Watching my beloved hubby let our ninja-boys kick the stuffing out of him!

* Talking to the plants and flowers in my “Magic Room.” My lemon tree is about to bloom any minute now! And since I’ve had to bring my first potted flowers inside due to the weather, the room smells FABULOUS!

* Looking at gardening magazines and catalogs.

* Lighting candles with intention.

* Having a friend tell me that she asked a psychic friend about the gender of my baby and she was told “No doubt, it’s a beautiful baby girl.” But, of course!

* Drinking healing tea infused with blessings!

* Feeling peaceful and in the flow!!!!

My Everyday Magic & Higher Vibrations

*I am light. I am love. I am awesome.  This 10 year old boy on Oprah the other day wants the world to use “the white light” to shield their “calm and peaceful” selves from negativity.

*Death is rebirth, and I am seeing that first-hand right now. I feel nothing but gratitude of all that has come from “loss”.

*I feel slightly (and pleasantly) distanced, though ever-so-connected to the world as it undergoes MAJOR changes, physically, spiritually, structurally, emotionally, etc…

*Feeling open and in awe of the infinite possibilities that surround us, and the infinite energy to follow our desires!

*Seeing that more and more people everyday are finding REAL CONNECTION, open spirituality & acceptance of one another, embracing the arts and heart-centered paths, intuitive guidance, and more as the NORM.

*Radical TRUST, Revolutionary LOVE, Sweeping & Far-reaching PEACE, Extreme FORGIVENESS, and Unrelenting JOY!!!!!!

*Honoring my True Self, along with my ebb & flow of desire for socializing, as well as for solitude.

*Finding Grace in Silence.

*Knowing that even if I’m not “actively” creating what I want, just the thought and desire for it is putting the wheels in motion for its creation, if not creating it in its entirety! My grandma told me the other day that more than half the fun is in the dreaming and wanting, because as soon as you “have it”, you may spend time enjoying it, but you quickly move on to wanting something else. So let us enjoy the wanting, dreaming & desiring!

*Honoring and loving where I am. Right NOW.

I love you all, may you feel the shower of blessings that are pouring into your life. May you see the gift in both the easy and the difficult, and may your heart be filled with joy!

 

Win-Win Situations! 1/30/2010 January 30, 2011

Win-Win Situations!

The past few weeks, I’ve been working with another doula who is overwhelmed with clients. She has been giving me lots of extra work, which is awesome because I am making a ton of extra money! However, quite a few times, she ends up canceling or changing the schedule on me at the last minute, which bums me out and was making me quite frustrated! Until I realized ~ If I don’t work, I have FREE TIME! I can sleep through the night! (I work overnights) I can spend more time with my sweetie or my friends! And if I DO work, I make money I can spend on great stuff! So it’s really a win-win! (Or a *win-win-win* for anyone who watches The Office ;) )

What situations have you been in where you were disappointed at first, and then realized they are ALL bright sides and raised your vibe?

My Everyday Magic:

~A great night out last night seeing my favorite local band! And flirting with them while they were up on stage, AND my sweetie, of course!

~Looking FABULOUS and owning it! You know that’s my motto.

~Finishing a few knitting projects, and starting some new ones!

~Spending the day in NYC with my bestie and her sweet 4 year old girl

~Hanging out with tons of friends at a party!

~My girl – she put on sunglasses, and I said, “You look great!” to which she replied very matter-of-factly, “Yes Denon. I great.” The self-confidence! I adore it.

MidWeek Wishes!

I’ve been receiving some instant gratification from the Universe lately and, while I’m feeling lucky, hope to share these vibes with you!

For some other hopes that cannot be satisfied immediately, I’ve grown deeper faith in divine timing ~ knowing that in working toward a specific path (my path) my secret dreams will fall into place when they will be most fruitful and positive for me & all involved.

My Magic (aka the instant gratification):
* hot chocolate
* hard-Earned $
* ending boredom through bonding <3
* LOVE appreciated and reciprocated
* connected conversations
* old friends reappearing
* finishing a book in a week and feeling accomplished (the fact that I didn’t put it off was quite nice)

* and then there are the whispers from the Universe: letting me know it hears me, that I need to take initiative,  to please be patient :p, while flooding my mind with creativity & the motivation to create in a program I’m going to teach myself these next couple of weeks. [instant gratification? while the story/images played out in my head, I deeply wondered who could help me find the perfect song...then it played (through pandora, yes, but I had never heard this particular song before)]

MyWish(es):
* to accomplish this month’s goals this month!
* to smile more often (I seem to have lost that somewhere)
* & to be more assertive and take initiative.

“Higher Vibrational” Magic!

My family just got back from a mini-vacation and it was exquisite! We haven’t gone anywhere for more than one night in well over a year (we used to be BIG travel bugs!) and it was just what we needed. I was especially delighted to see signs of the world shifting to a more magical place. Other sources will tell us that everything is going downhill, and we can choose to believe that ~ but I’ve found that if you look in the right places the magic is also definitely increasing exponentially!

*Signs of certain vibrational shifts happening while we were on vacation:

~The pedicabs were “open-fares” and only worked on tips ~ what a GREAT idea! You’re so delighted with the concept you WANT to tip big!

~One restaurant had a big sign that said “Restrooms are OPEN to the public” ~ I had to do a double-take on that one, as I’ve NEVER seen that sort of sign before!

~Our hotel had been renovated and it was absolutely GORGEOUS and our room was twice as big! They also delivered us free gourmet cheese and crackers when we inquired about where we could find some!

~ There was a brand new carousel on the outskirts of Quincy Market! How FABULOUS to have a carousel in the middle of the city!

~ Our other hotel cut our rate in half when we they had to come take care of some ants in our room (thank you, ants!)

~ Both hotels gave us FREE bottle of waters in the room, instead of charging us $6.00 each!

~ Reading about dogs that are trained to help diabetics ~ they’re able to sniff the change of scent when blood sugar dips and they alert their owners before the attack happens. How awesome is that!

~ Reading about some ‘tweens who have started their own organizations growing food for the hungry!

More Magic

* Enjoying being home after 4 days and 4 nights away!

* Looking forward to seeing some friends very soon ~ and being optimistic about the weather so we can play outside!

* Having friends for dinner tomorrow night!

* The GORGEOUS flowers my beloved brought me home for our anniversary last night ~ the same color as our wedding flowers!

* Being back home on MEM!!!
