“Just Being” Magic

I’m pleased to say I’m feeling better than when I posted this weekend’s “Even Though” magic. Acceptance of where I am is key ~ which is a lesson I keep learning over and over again! I stumbled across this quote that really speaks to me ~ maybe you’ll like it too:

” This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival; a joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and attend them all. Even if they’re  a crowd of sorrows…still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.” ~ Rumi

I don’t know about you but I’m SO READY for some NEW DELIGHT and I’ve done enough clearing to welcome a whole house-full!!! Until then I’m going to try and do what Rumi suggests and welcome ALL the guests, honoring each and every one.

My Magic:

* My adorable baby’s crooked little smile and the croak he makes when he’s laughing. He’s such a gentle, peaceful soul and his eyes are utterly magic!

* My beloved hubby’s birthday yesterday ~ we made him a cake, got him balloons, and wrapped up some presents. A nice, quiet little celebration with our family of 5.

* The fact that my hubby is still my FAVORITE person to talk to after 13 years. I just love talking with him.

* My sweet babe took a 3 hour nap yesterday, which was also the rest I needed too.

* Feeling almost a fever pitch in relation to the New Energy ~ and wondering where it will take us!

Spicy Fairy

Happy Monday everyone! I’m glad you came today, because I want to reflect on something really important ~ Time. When reflecting back on my magic, I’ve notice how I’m always talking about how great upcoming events will be, but really I should be appreciating my present. It’s great to be excited for the future, but the present makes your future so it’s just as important. What’s making your present wonderful? Here’s my list

Present Magic;
~ I’m currently really happy. Things feel right, and I’m really excited about everything!
~ today is Monday; the first day of spirit week (Hale-Ray Day!,) looking like a fool being all decked out for today, soccer double header in between dance classes tonight, etc!
~ my nails are painted a nice french mani, so that’s always nice
~ my mom is wonderfully patient with me, and we can always calmly talk about our issues. That’s probably the greatest thing both a mom AND a daughter could ask for!
~ my dad is so generous, even when he doesn’t have a job. He went out of his way learning a new cake recipe for my birthday! So sweet of him
~ my friends. I love everything about them, and I’m so lucky to have them in my lives.

Other Magic;
~ my photo shoot on Saturday gave me so much confidence. I felt so beautiful, and I think part of why I’m so happy now is because I feel great about myself. <3
~ being back in the gym routine
~ homecoming is this Friday! I was going to have a boy date, Cole, but he’s a chicken. I’m going to have just as much fun (if not more!) with my girls.

The Flirty Fairy

A great week approaches here at Chez Flirty… Nothing too exciting, just some really enjoyable BEING! I’ve had more time to just take it slow and get the most out of every day… I don’t want the summer to rush by without even being noticed!

I went to a SUPER FUN concert yesterday with my sweetie and two good friends, and a fun BBQ today with my bestie and her family. Plus I’ve been doing a lot of just hanging out with my sister and mama, which is always lovely.

My Everyday Magic:
- getting to use my new EllaRoo wrap with my sweet babies… I’m hooked!
-some really fun flirting!
-my sweetie giving me a new, nerdy, “Dr. Who” related nickname… It’s just who he is!
- winning a Blu Ray player while out to dinner with my best friend! Just spending time with her ( she lives in Hawaii!) was prize enough.
- getting really excited about her wedding in two weeks!
-setting up an interview with a mama expecting TRIPLETS!!! I’m really hoping she sees how fabulous I am and hires me… How fun would that be?

Flirty Fairy!

Wow, June!! Always a super-busy month. I have a social invitation pretty much every Friday, Saturday and Sunday the whole month!! Birthdays, graduations, bbq’s… whew! It’ll make your head spin. Fortunately so far everything is falling into place really well – no conflicts and I’m able to make it to everything! {C’mon, did you think your Flirty Fairy would turn down an invitation?? }

But MAN have I been busy. Prepping my tutoring students for the last SAT/ACT, AP exams, finals, etc; being super busy with doula clients, catching up with friends, trying to spend time with my sweetie when I can, and of course, hitting the beach!! I literally shoehorn things into my schedule! Finally, this week, things are starting to slow down. I am embracing the slowing, taking the opportunity to catch up on my relaxation as well as my To Do List!!

I also made the commitment that this week, I was not going to bend over backwards rearranging things and putting people out just to fit EVERYTHING into my schedule. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reassembled my whole house-of-cards week for one change. I love being able to be there for everyone, but I need to focus on me for a bit.

If you’re as busy as I am this month, make sure and take time out to just enjoy the beautiful things June has to offer. Sit on the porch with an ice cold lemonade (or mojito, if you’re like me!) and just soak up the sun. And of course, don’t forget to BREATHE!

My Everyday Magic (so much this week!!):

~Spending time with family and friends

~The AWESOME Olivia cake and rainbow cupcakes I made for my niece’s birthday party

~Winning tickets to a concert on the radio!!

~Having a minor car accident turn out to be a good thing- I got the whole front end of my car replaced and she looks brand new! And hassle free… my sister was away all week so I just used her fantastic car.

~ My sweetie starting his new job!

~Getting excited about moving to Princeton, a super cool town!!

~Working on my tan!

~Gratitude for my friend E, who lets me stay at her house whenever I want, and is all-around a fantastic friend!
