Stay Calm and Sparkle!

A good friend of mine (and frequent MEM poster) recently sent me a beautiful image on Facebook that had shimmery pink, purple, and gold sparkles with the words “Stay Calm and Sparkle.” It was perfect timing, as I’d been feeling restless and impatient. Both my hubby and I have been feeling we’ve been in a “waiting room” of sorts for quite awhile now. It feels like the “wait” is coming to a close and I’m simultaneously giddy for what’s coming and frustrated it’s not here yet! This message has been my mantra since she sent it to me (Thank you again, Tara! ;) ) and this is exactly what I’ve decided to do as our “wait” comes to it’s exciting end. I “sparkled” someone for the first time in almost 10 months on Monday and it felt FANTASTIC!

There’s this beautiful wood and brick house not far from ours (we even looked at it when we were in the market) and for the past two autumns a little voice has been telling me to gift it’s owner with one of my fall wreaths for their front door. I “meant” to do it many times last year but never got around to it. This year, the first time I went past that house and the little voice told me the wreath belonged there, I decided to take action right away. I wrote a little sparkly note, donned on my wings, and delivered the wreath to their home. They weren’t there to answer the door so I left it there with the invitation to either accept the wreath for their front door if they liked it or to pass it on to a friend.

As I came running from their door I felt giddy in a way I haven’t felt in a while. It felt GOOD. And the only thing that felt better was driving by the next day..and seeing the wreath on their front door. I smile every time I drive by. And now I’m hungry for more! I have more sparkly missions up my sleeve (that woke me up in the middle of the night last night!) and I can’t wait to get my SPARKLE ON again!!!

Moments of Bliss: All you need is LOVE! 

This last Friday on the Aquarius Full Moon I set out on a sparkle mission to offer up FREE HUGS in my community. Some of you may recall an older post of mine where I made my first go at giving out free hugs. The big difference between that last adventure and this one was that this time I wasn’t alone.

Using the magic of the social network I sent out an invite to all my facebook friends to meet me at a local tourist hot spot on our island. Although I had another motive in choosing this area… to gift some hugs to the majority of  Guam’s Japanese tourist and with that I was looking to especially show my support to Japan post Earthquake and Tsunami disaster. The support we gave wasn’t of anything monetary but rather the simple gesture of hugging a stranger for no other reason than just because. I am continually surprised by how this little act of love can bring so much light and joy to a person’s heart, how in letting go to the moment the soul is filled with so much hope and promise. My face still hurts from all the smiling and laughing that went on that night. Watching all the happy faces was intoxicating! I had this event planned to last an hour but we were having so much fun that we all decided to keep pushing on for another 2 hours.

Before the event, the day had been really stormy as there was a tropical depression passing over our tiny island but I kept telling myself It didn’t matter I would find a way to still give out hugs as it just felt so appropriate to give them out on this day, and you know what…. Not a drop fell on us during the time we were offering up hugs to people. It did however sprinkle across the street from us but the rain just passed us by and after we were done a big down pour set in. I would like to believe that for three hours the magic of the Aquarian full moon that night kept the skies clear  just for us to be able to spread joy in our community, brightening up the world for even just a little while.

At some point in our adventure we decided to all walk through DFS a high end department store in the heart of  Guam’s tourism district. Going through the store we weren’t sure if we would have a warm welcome as this place is known for it’s atmosphere of propriety. Instead this place turned out to have the best huggers of the night especially from the store clerks who would crane their necks to see what the comotion was all about. Then at some point the store manger came out to ask if he could take a group picture of us and also requested we keep moving about the store and was told to ” keep spreading the love”.

I would have to say that this sparkle mission was most definitely accomplished!!! But for me the moment of bliss in all this was seeing my 4 year old being so eager to share the joy! (((HUGS))) is all you need!

I’m feeling the need to revisit Sparkle Mission #2: Love the One You’re With. It worked so well for the many months I did it, but then I slacked off…and I’m feeling the difference in my relationship with my beloved. So, I’m recommitting to my mission and to him.

Anyone care to join me? Just for today, post at least three things you LOVE about your partner. It feels so good, you may just want to do it everyday!

What I LOVE and My Love

* He’s amazing at giving people business advice that excites them and that they can use right away ~ it’s so wonderful to see this gift in action!

* He brought home gifts for me the other day for no particular reason ~ a beautiful pink and purple candle and bath salts. What a thoughtful, wonderful man!

* He’s so amazing at compromising that I could probably take a few lessons from him! I love you, My Rabbit!

My Everyday Magic

* Recommitting to my beloved!

* Getting our upstairs bedroom painted tomorrow ~ green and purple!

* Talking paint colors with my SIL ~ she’s got a knack and has got me so excited!

* Wonderful visit with our family and watching the four cousins play so wonderfully together!

Today we’re revisiting Sparkle Missions 1-4! All of them are powerful, some of them are astoundingly miraculous! Today, I’m personally revisiting Sparkle Mission #4: Radical Self-Acceptance. This is definitely proving to be the most challenging for me, especially when I’m faced with circumstances that are less than ideal. It’s so easy to think of the things I “could have done better” or  “done differently,” but thinking like that is futile. I’m having to keep reminding myself that my path is PERFECT no matter what and there are gifts in EVERYTHING!

* It’s RAINING! And it’s been raining since yesterday evening! Thank Goddess!!!

* Playing in the pouring rain with my 5 year old! So much fun and it felt so cleansing!

* My 2 year old’s “I wuv you” ‘s. Soooo precious!

* Hearing about a magical dream that the Sunshine Faery had! ;)

* Seeing my friends at the playground yesterday who are so nurturing and comforting ~ exactly what I needed.

* A FANTASTIC healing dream last night! I was disappointed to wake up and realize it hadn’t actually happened in this physical reality ~ but I believe it happened on another level and just may physically take place too!

* A YUMMY dinner made by my beloved today!

* Starting to feel like my NEW self! ;)

My Everyday Magic!

* Feeling like I’ve FINALLY found the peaceful existence I’ve been looking for because of Radical Self-Acceptance!!!

* Getting to talk to my dear friend, Hillary, for an hour yesterday and hear all about the birth story of her 1 week old daughter that had me streaming tears of joy the whole time!!! I love you, Hillary! Welcome Earthside, Little Nila!!!

* Getting a WHOLE BUNCH of camping equipment yesterday evening with the family!

* Going out to dinner because it was just plain HOT last night!

* My boys being so lovable and grateful and wonderful!

* My wonderful husband who makes me happy every single day!

* My 2 year old who insist we say grace at least twice at dinner every night!

* My 5 year old scaling the doorway almost to the top ~ and me cheering him on!

* My wonderful friend, Leah, who emailed me 2 lists of camping trip “must-haves”! Thank you again, Leah!

* Planning on a Whole Foods family trip…right now!!

My Everyday Magic

* Catching a frog at our local pond yesterday and bringing him home. The boys had so much fun playing with him and we’re hopeful he’s still in our yard, as he’s wandered from his new pond. ;)

* The amazing energy from MEM and The Rainbow Faery yesterday!

* The thunderstorms that watered my garden yesterday.

* The sun is shining brightly today and it’s Field Trip Day for the boys and Papa today!

* The grocery shopping is done and the fridge is packed FULL!

* Anticipating hours in the garden all by myself today!

Today’s Sparkle Mission is a continuation of Sparkle Mission #2! This is such an important and powerful mission and it truly can change the whole fabric of our lives. My Everyday Magic

* The Grandpa Fairy making a comment on yesterday’s post and the Fairies totally embracing him! Makes my heart sing! :)

* Sending in the application for my vanity plates, “SPARKL” ~ which was totally not my doing, but clearly divine intervention in the form of my sister-in-law, Selina, and my dear friend, Cat! :)

* Deciding to use the Sparkling Essex Day page as a mini-blog of my community event preparations (because frankly, I need an outlet for this nervous energy! ;) )

* Being surrounded by Magical and Incredible women yesterday at our homeschooling playgroup. Every mother is simply wonderful in her own unique way and I CHERISH every single one of them!!!! I’m so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful friends.

* My Dearest Husband ~ who loves and supports me (unconditionally) every single day of the year. I’m so blessed to have such a handsome, charismatic, intelligent, playful and generous man as my soul-mate! I love you!!!

* Laughter Magic ~ what a WONDERFUL way to spend a Tuesday!! Thanks again, Rainbow Faery! ;)

* A wonderful hour long hike in the woods with my little boys, where my 2 year old walked most of the time!

* An AMAZING Asparagus and Mushroom Bread Pudding made by ME, which was soooo good that both hubby and I had seconds AND I dreamed about it all night! :)

* Being happy to make my beloved hubby some organic brownies after dinner because he had a craving and needed some extra loving!
