Hello, friends!  I hope you’ve had an absolutely magical week thus far!  I’ve especially loved the “Dreaming Big” and “I Wonder” magic this week!  What fun!

It’s been a rollercoaster kind of week for us.  Fortunately, I have been very grounded lately so when the ups and downs occurred, I’ve just taken it all in stride.   I’m loving that feeling.  It’s been a few years since I’ve felt this way — grounded, and able to handle things in stride — and I must say, I like it!!!!

Today is my sister’s birthday — so happy birthday big sis!!!  We’re heading out tomorrow for an overnight for baseball — so that should be fun.  I get to spend the weekend with my beloved.  And, my house is clean — so where I’m sitting it looks like the makings of a great start to (for many of you) a long weekend!!!

What an intense few days it has been for me!  I should remember that when it gets tough for me, answers will come. I’m not ready to share all of them yet, but what I am ready to share is how powerful big dreams are.  For many things that I really, really want I tend to dream safe, and I’m finding I’m not getting very far.  lol.  In an attempt to not be too disappointed, I’m seeing that I end up fully disappointed, totally bummed by deciding to be ‘realistic’ about my dreams.  I am seeing an end to it all and I talked about it more at Grateful Heart.  For the things that are really important to me, I have a hard time thinking big.  (Except for the things that I have no doubt will happen and then they totally do – such as my business, or figuring out a way to be a stay at home mom)

So, I’m going to get brave and Dream Big.  Please share one or two things that you want to happen soon-ish.  Let this be part of your manifestation of your dream.   Oh, and don’t forget the power of fairy magic.  Posting it here will definitely give it more power.

- A house.  A house of my very own for myself and my husband and my three kids.  A place where we can play outside.  A place where I can plant healing plants, eating plants and just beautiful plants.  Fruit trees.  Climbing trees, good smelling trees.  A few good rocks for climbing and playing on.  Space for running.   Easy access to the commuter rail for hubby.  Visual outside space with either a creek nearby, or a pond, or a forest.  I so badly need nature. Inside: an office where I can go and be at peace.  A guest space.  I’m a good cook and I love a nice kitchen to work in, so a good sized kitchen that has adequate counter space.  Lots of storage space.  I would prefer more storage space and less living space.

-losing weight.  It’s been a struggle since the Fall.  I’m refusing to buy new clothes, but I only have a few things that fit on my bottom half.  sigh.  So by the end of summer, all of my clothes will be comfortably loose and I will be ready to buy some new things.

- Time for myself, Time for my business, Time for myself and my hubby.  Peace for me while I work, and a feeling that I’m not always in a rush.

Spicy’s Senior Prom!

Here’s for catching up! I apologize for messing up last week, but I think all my ladies on here will appreciate today’s theme; beauty. As a 17 year old girl, I find keeping up with this aspect of life crucial, not only on the outside, but on the inside! I don’t know about you, but when I make the effort to look good, I feel better overall. However, when I recognize how beautiful life is in general, I feel more beautiful inside. You can buy make-up to look beautiful, but there’s no cosmetic for inner beauty. If you see above, these are some of my best friends. Aren’t they stunning? Part of the reason why they look so fresh is because they are absolutely gorgeous on the inside as well, which to me, make the difference. Since I don’t think we can post pictures as comments, why don’t you reminisce & share a moment (or more ) that you felt absolutely beautiful, inside and out! I’d love to hear these, because I know I love reminiscing on my moments.

The Star Fairy

I’m really appreciating the beauties of Spring, this week! The bright green of the new leaves, the flowers everywhere, the birdsong… ah, just lovely! Venus, planet of love and beauty, turned retrograde on Tuesday, meaning she now appears from our perspective to be moving backward. You might still catch her in the western sky at sunset before she disappears under the Sun’s rays. She is in the sign of Gemini, which is all about words and communication.  So I am honoring her with my words, and encouraging you all to look for the beauty in your life today and share it with us. Sometimes we are surrounded by beauty but we are rushing too much to notice it. Today, whenever you can, pause for a moment, take a deep breath, and use your senses to notice the rich beauty that surrounds you. Appreciate the magic of being alive… what a gift!

MEM:

My beautiful kitties! Lovely to look at, so soft to touch, and most of all I appreciate their sweet warm presence when they  snuggle next to me in bed.

My big, beautiful, black dog! Watching him romp, wrestle and play with another puppy yesterday just filled me with joy and made me laugh out loud. I love watching him run, too, and swim.  He embodies joy.

The lovely ladies and their dogs who we met on our walk yesterday afternoon.  So nice to walk and chat with someone! So nice to meet a 12yo girl who is taking care of her puppy and confidently walking out on her own.

Listening to birdsong, and being able to recognize some of their calls, and know the names of some of the birds I see.  Such beautiful creatures!

Lightning in the distance last night! It’s the first time I’ve seen it this year, and I really enjoyed watching it!

My son! His sweet smile, his strong, growing body, his gorgeous long red hair, the warmth of his snuggles… he fills me with delight!

The petunias and snapdragons I bought from our local boy scouts, waiting patiently to be put into the big planters… today!

Sunshine after rain! It was lovely to have rain for a few days earlier this week, to hear the dripping and splashing and flowing everywhere! And now it is beautiful to have the Sun out and shining in a blue sky, shining down on the green, green green that the rain has nourished.

The roses my husband bought me for Mother’s Day, which are here on my desk in a vase.  I notice their scent many times each day, and I love their color and the way they have been gradually opening wider each day.

Sunshine Faerie

My Magic:

   Watching my son play baseball yesterday!  The team played so well and they supported each other, had fun and kicked butt!!!  I am so proud of everyone and their hard work and excited about the season!

   Last week, I implemented some family time into our daily routine.  A huge block of time where we do everything together!  As my kids have gotten older, we were fragmenting a bit — so it was great to bring it back to the family again — we go unplugged and use the time for work, play, learning, and having fun — what we do is less important than the fact that we are doing it together without outside distractions.  My youngest really loves it already and made several comments to me — my oldest seems to be benfitting from it too, he’s a little more resistant to change and less vocal about it, but I get the sense it’s appealing to him too.  I’m loving it!!!  I feel like I”m doing what I’m supposed to be doing, I am getting more done and it feels good to connect with them and really be doing things more as a family again!!!          

   My beloved travelling out to the game — I was so delighted to have him there with me to cheer the team on and I appreciated his efforts to get out of bed early and make the drive out to the game

   Being part of a great team!  I was so grateful to another parent and his help when I needed it — and then later I was able to help another family out!  It’s so great to work together and have a real sense of community.

   Sunshine!  Glorious, sunshine!  Perfect weather and being outside in it all weekend.  Perfect weather scheduled for most of this week!!!  I’m loving it!!!

Apologies again for being late with My Everyday Magic.  I have been incredibly sick (potential pneumonia) and am taking care of 3 sick kids by myself.  With Cystic Fibrosis, even little colds take hours of my day, with chest percussions and a variety of health supports.  I haven’t forgotten MEM, it has just taken me a bit longer to get  to it!  

Happy Mother’s Day!  I always enjoy Mother’s Day because the weather is beautiful and the energy always feels relaxed and energized at the same time!  It’s a time to celebrate the women in our lives that have shaped who we are, whether it be our actual mothers, or other female figures in our lives.  Feminine energy is loving, strong, grounded, heartfelt and is about giving and receiving!

Today is also a time to reflect on our own motherhood, for those of us with children.  I remember my first Mother’s Day, 10 years ago with a 2 month old baby, sitting by the creek in a the woods.  Being a mother has shaped who I am in such a deep and transformative way.  Children truly are our greatest teachers.  I am much more patient, playful, non-judgmental and imaginative because of my years as a mother.

So, in whatever way feels right to you, take a moment to honor the women who have come into your life in special ways.  And for all the mothers out there, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!  Keep nurturing those little ones (of all ages)!  By raising conscious children, you are helping spread the Magic out into the world!

My Mother’s Day Magic:
*I know I can always count on my mom to support and love me!

*My mom taught me skills that I use every day – how to plan and prioritize, keeping a tidy home, how to work with people to find solutions that make everyone happy!

*Being a mother has taught me how strong I am.  How I can accomplish seemingly impossible tasks.  To get through the hard times to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

*Going outside today to play at the beach and eat delicious food!

*Tim is finally home (again!), but this time for good!   I can get some reprieve to take care of myself.

Fabulous Friday!!!

Hello!  I can’t believe how quickly this past week has gone! 
I’ve not been here much this week and hope to resume a little more frequency on the site next week.  We needed a real shake up in our family and I decided last week that we were going to make some radical changes — so we’ve spent the week doing things differently and I must say — I’M LOVING IT!!!!!    Last week, I had one of those moments with my kids where I saw things in them that I didn’t like in myself.  Yikes!  It’s not a fun moment as a parent– and yet, it was really pivotal and I realized that the changes needed to start with me leading the way and I was ready and willing for the challenge!!

   Baseball — our first tournament this weekend!  I cannot wait to see the kids play as a team!!!  They had so much fun playing last night, I’m excited for them.

   Getting a new iPad for the boys today!  Thank you homeschool funding!!!

   Our new rhythm and routine!  It’s amazing how differently I feel (and how differently things seem to be in our family) due to the changes we’ve made this week.

   Gorgeous, sunny, perfect weather!!!  And, they’re calling for more of the same for the next week

   Being able to meet a dear friend for coffee last evening!  What a treat!!!

I know it’s a couple of days early but I want to wish all our Mothers, Mothers-to-Be, and Grandmothers a very Happy Mother’s Day!  Our job is not always easy and the rewards are not always easily seen — but it truly is the most important and beautiful work of our lives!!!!

The Spicy Fairy!

All I want to do today is breathe. Take a deep breath, and acknowledge your presence. On Saturday, I babysat for our Sparkle Fairy and as soon as I walked in the door, I stopped in my tracks to stretch and embrace the atmosphere of her home. It was so relieving to be back, and when I remember that feeling of content, I smile. Breathing is one of the simplest, cheapest, and most effective ways to relieve stress; I’ve learned this through therapy. I’ve gone to two clinical hypnosis sessions, and I’ve learned that with a focused mindset and relaxed breathing pace, I can be as content and relaxed as a sunset in the summer. Take one of your happiest memories and imagine yourself as you were when you lived it. Feel it, smell it, see it, be it. Close your eyes and live in it for a couple of minutes – you’ll feel better. It’s always good to relax, and sometimes Marvelous Mondays are in dire need of this relaxation. I’m going to be in Cancun, well, in my mind at least where are you going?

My Magic:

  Having a moment with my boys, one that led to more clarity and understanding of who I am and what I most need to do.  Sometimes it is the reflections of ourselves that we see in others that help us realize the most important lessons in our lives.

  Doing a family workout routine

  Looking through some of my best and favourite photos.  I love taking pictures and recently caught a beautiful one of a ladybug on a leaf.  I love nature - she’s my favorite subject.

   The rainy skies clearing this morning so we can travel safely and in good road conditions

  Feeling the need to make some changes and feeling really, really good about them

  Being there for a friend who needs me today.  I will be thrilled to see her, even though it will be a very difficult day for her.

  Feeling so blessed with friends and incredible people in my life! 

  Loving the ability to come here on a regular basis, post, be honest and authentic and share with others.
