My Magic:

  Iced coffee

  Rain!  It’s been raining like crazy this week and I love it!  Everything is literally turning green before my ideas and it’s absolutely marvelous!  We definitely needed some moisture!

  Good friends.  I have so many wonderful people in my life.  I feel blessed times a million when I think of all the lovely people that I call friend.  I’ve also been blessed to connect with a few friends this week that I haven’t spoken to in awhile and it makes my heart sparkle!!!

  Being there for one of my closest friends as she deals with the loss of her mom.  I am grateful for my own understanding of grief and the compassion and ability I have to be there for her.   I know she really needs me and others right now to help her with her loss.

  My son allowing me to be his personal trainer and being delighted with his progress!  With all the rain, baseball has been cancelled this week and our first big game is next week — so he’s allowed me to turn our basement into his training room and we’ve been having fun keeping him up to speed and working on his skills!

  A big shout-out to my son’s coach!  I love that my son gets to learn from someone who loves the game, is compassionate and dedicated times 1000!  We stopped by their house last night and he helped us out with my son’s skills!  It’s just so great for my son to have an opportunity to learn and work with someone like this! 

  Working with my beloved under stress (him under stress, not so much me) and having us really work well together!  We make a great team and I know I am helpful to him.  I appreciate his willingness to keep things in check and be conscious of ‘US’ even when he’s feeling stress and working hard!  <3

  Making the best fettucine alfredo and everyone loving it!  The rain certainly brings out the desire for a good hearty meal!  I love how my diet has changed a lot since February and I’m really loving the changes!

   Love!  There’s nothing better than love — and like most days, I plan to love with all my being today!!!

The Spicy Fairy!

Hey everyone! Today I want to keep it simple and recognize the rhythm that we’re living in. Right now this is super important to me, because I feel like my rhythm is setting in again. Last week my mama was in South Carolina, so I had to stay home and take care of the house and animals as well as all my other responsibilities, but now that she’s back I’m feeling more-regular and peaceful. If you don’t have magic about your current rhythm, at least take a second to acknowledge your groove.

My Rhythmic Magic;

~ still working hard, but relaxing here and there

~ busy every day = pretty typical lol

~ feeling how routine my life is now… I like it, but at the same time I need some spice!

~ ^ finding my spice in little ways, like the photo-shoot I did this weekend! I was an alter-ego – nerd vs sexy, which was definitely fun

My Other Magic;

~ motivated to look nice, which definitely helps me get through this awful senioritis!

~ I got 13 hours of sleep on Saturday, and I definitely needed it after a long photo-shoot and little sleep this past week

I need new wings.

I know! You’re all, where is the Star Fairy, with her delightful and informative astrology tidbits? But instead you get me, with delightful and informative tidbits about… nothing. Except my cats. So let’s send a big love shout out to Starf and tell her how much we miss her today, and hope she comes back soon!

Today’s Magic is brought to you by shakin’ it off and getting back on the horse when the chips are down. Any other cliches I can cram into that sentence? No? Ok, good. I wrote a blog post today, and I am a huge procrastinator and not a flow-y writer at all, so this is a big accomplishment. And then – it FAILED. Didn’t publish, was GONE. I know, I know, I should have hit cmd+C before posting, but I didn’t (ed: did this time, and good thing because I almost lost THIS!). And yeah. So I wallowed for a while, went to a lunch meeting, went to the bank, played Draw Something, basically avoided re-doing it because it was such an ordeal and I was so bummed. But then later, I just sat down and wrote it, and it was quick! And easy! And possibly even better than the first time! I feel AWESOME now, rather than sorry for myself. Sure, some stuff vanished into the ether, like some mention of full boobs waking you up in the middle of the night, but I’m just going to let it go. We’re all probably the better for it. Anywho, if this happens to you – GET BACK IN THE SADDLE!

My magic!

~My awesome lunch meeting with a local chiro who specializes in preggos and new mamas and GETS IT. She is dying to refer me to clients, and even asked ME if I’d like to give a talk there while I was screwing up my courage to ask HER. Plus we are so on the same page about everything from birth (home), to vax (no thx), to Back to Sleep (ugh).

~Day 3 of the shake diet and it’s going AWESOME. I finally realized why I’m doing it – not just weight loss or convenience, though those are both bonuses – I want to reset my mentality about food and eating. By only having to think about one meal a day, and really look forward to it, I am so much more mindful about what I eat. Instead of a chore, eating is a joy! And what’s better than that? (McDonald’s french fries! Yeah, I know. Let me have my moment.)

The Spicy Fairy, and friends!

Howdy everyone! It’s a rainy day here in CT, but the rain won’t prevent me from feelin’ good. Just seeing the picture I chose for the day makes me smile, so I can tell it’ll be a good day! If you can spot me, I’m in the back with the wings – This was the day that I met Kate, aka our lovely Sparkle Fairy, and it’s a day that shaped my life for the better. Without going to this community beach-cleaning 2 years ago, I wouldn’t be the Spicy Fairy! This day is responsible for crucial things in my life; why I’m reminded to think optimistically all the time, why I got into all my colleges [I wrote about this site, experience, and day in my college essays ], why I tried new things, why I became and loved being babysitter, and why I have become more comfortable in my sassy, spicy skin. I’d like to take a day to remember why you’re here; do you remember how you found this lovely site? Reminisce for a moment and feel it, because if we don’t appreciate it, how will we keep loving it?

My Reminiscent Magic;

~ being somewhat shy that day, Sparkle’s shiny personality eased me out of my comfort zone

~ I remember walking and talking with her and the boys, and feeling our kindred spirits connecting while picking up garbage and talking about baby-fates and her website

~ when I got home from the beach that day, I remember emailing Sparkle about our first baby-sitting date and feeling so excited!

~ going on the website that day and commenting for the first time <3

Fun Faerie Friday!

Let’s have some fun today!  I feel like frolicking and being playful and just having some real good fun!  I’m not sure what any of that means, but whatever you do today — put a little extra spring in your step, smile a little bigger and do things with a light-hearted and playful spirit today!!!

My Magic:

  My boys!  Gosh — what can be more fun than kids?  My boys are such terrific people — full of creative ideas, playful attitudes, easy to please, quick to forgive and ready and willing to frolick and play at a moment’s notice!!!!!

  My beloved!  What is more fun than being in love?  My beloved is such a wonderful person — we are so playful with one another, we laugh and joke, we work amazingly well together as a team, we support one another and have so much fun just being with each other!  He’s just the best and our relationship is so much fun!  (and the anniversary of our first date is this weekend!  I can’t believe how fast the years pass!)

  Baseball!  My son is having so much fun playing baseball.  He’s learning a lot, has great coaches and fun team and I’m really enjoying getting outside every night and meeting more people and becoming part of the baseball community here!

  Pets!!!  My kids are really good pet owners!  They are having so much fun with their unique pets and I love watching them thrive!

  Me!!!  I can be a whole lot of fun!   I can be super-serious sometimes, but boy — when I have a chance to be playful — look out!!!!  I’m your girl!

  Life!!!  There are so many wonderful things all around us — everyday!  Nature, seeing the new grass and flowers and birds re-appear — fun people at the grocery store — neightbours — good books — iced coffees — birthdays — sunshine —-  I could go on and on and on!!!

Whatever you do, where ever you go today — take a moment to be a little happier, a little lighter and little more playful.  There’s always a reason to feel joyful and finding the magic in our everyday is one of the best ways to have fun!!!  Love and hugs to each and every one of you — and watch out for some extra special magic headed your way!  Faeries just love playful magic!!!

The Star Fairy

The New Moon in Taurus is exact in the wee hours of Saturday morning (eastern time).  That will be a great time to plant seeds, literally and figuratively, and to begin projects connected with Taurus themes: money, sensual pleasure, nature, singing, taking one’s time.

But right now, the Moon is getting thinner and thinner and lower in the east before sunrise, and will disappear entirely for a couple days.  Its time to release anything that’s not working for you, and take a little time to consider what you want to do next. Find a little quiet time if you can to breathe and rest and feel your way.

MEM:

One of my kitties (not the one in the picture, this one is black and white and a bit bigger) keeping me company while I type this.  She keeps walking back and forth on my desk between me and my computer, purring.

Actual rain (not just “chance of showers”) in the forecast!  Of course, the Universe is having a joke with me because the rain is predicted for the day we were going to have my son’s birthday party here in our yard… but I’m still glad there is rain coming – it’s been so weirdly dry, here!

Adjusting plans for the party, and I think it will work out just fine, and probably be easier on me than our original plan, which is nice!  So those old plans are something I’m releasing with the old Moon…

Two new pairs of jeans!  And how easy it was to find exactly the kind I wanted on eBay!

Thinking about how excited my boy will be to have his party and his presents!  He’s already excited!

My soon-to-be-8yo making creatures with one of his building sets, and spending a lot of time telling me what each one is called and what it does, and then tying all four together as different stages of the same creature… quite the imaginative biologist!

Fabulous Friday Magic!

Wow!  This week went by quickly! 

I was reminded this week about the most fabulous magic of all — the magic of love and friendship!  The greatest gift in my struggles this week was finding comfort and strength in friendship.  I have been blessed with so many amazing people in my life — people who love me, accept me and are willing to hold my hand while I work through my ‘stuff’.  What could be more magical than that? 

This week, I stepped outside my comfort zone and was really honest with a friend.  Although it seemed a bit ‘risky’ — it freed me more than I could imagine.  To some, this may seem silly — and yet, I know there are others out there like me — others who keep things in, never really reveal to others and feel the burden of carrying it all alone.  If you’ve lived that way – I tell you, it was incredibly freeing to be honest and release some of that to another person and I feel a huge weight lifted off me as a result.

So I wanted to share a story with you:
Back in Jan/Feb I decided that I needed to take back control of my destiny (I had been complaining & placing blame a lot). With that epiphany, I wished for an apartment before my birthday. In March, I didn’t think I could really afford to do so. Last week, a friend told me one of her roommates was moving out. My birthday is Friday. I move Sunday.

That is the ONE Magic I have for today. A wish I am happy is coming true. I had been seeing a lot of “111″ which implies a big change/life decision. I’m scared, but think this is the best for me right now. It will be difficult, but I truly believe it’ll set me back on the right path

So let’s all make some Wishes today! It may not come true right this second, but I’m sure in it’s due time it will! What will you wish for?
