Hey y’all! Your Flirty Fairy has been SOOOOO super busy with my new twinnies that I have not been sharing my EM, and I miss it SO much! It’s amazing how wonderful it makes me feel. So when the Star Fairy asked me to post today, I jumped at the chance! Plus, it’s my Half Birthday

It’s so important, even when you’ve gotten away from a daily practice, to get back to it. Even if that just means jumping back in once in a while. I know what stops me sometimes is saying, well, if I only do it once that’s no good, so I might as well not do it at all – NOT true! A step forward is a step forward, even if it’s just a baby step. So here’s my BIG step (or flutter, for those of you wearing your wings).

My Everyday Magic:

• My kitties waking me up by sitting on my chest and purring – have I mentioned I love them??
• My sweetie, who made me DELICIOUS tacos for dinner the other night. OMG you guys, I think if I had unlimited tacos I’d eat them til I died.
• My twinnie girls! They are SO sweet. And their parents are awesome!
• ABUNDANCE!
• Decluttering! We organized our 2nd bedroom (aka crap storage room) the other night and it was surprisingly quick and easy!
• Looking forward to a relaxing weekend
• The beautiful weather we’ve been having! After last winter, we deserve a mild one

My Wednesday Magic!

 I’ve experienced some wonderful Connection magic that was inspired mostly after an Emo-fit (complete with a good cry) that reminded me to Be Present and Create/LIVE the life that I want.

* re-connecting & making plans with friends I’ve neglected
* connecting with myself by saying Yes To ME! (“This is what I’m doing….You can Join me if you like.)
* the strength to say YES! it has been fun
* re-connecting with my goals – I can’t pretend compliments don’t help
* SUPPORT – and it comes from unexpected places. Well, unexpected b/c I compare to previous experience.
The change of pace reminds me I’M IN A GOOD PLACE (& is such a lovely surprise). Love It & Do Your Best to KEEP It <3

Fire Fairy

What a crazy amount of emotions I’ve been feeling recently (emotions of guilt, frustration, defeat and truly feeling that we will never meet a long term goal that we want so badly).  My husband and I made some tough choices recently and they turned out not to be helpful for our long term goal.  It hurts and when I feel my throat tightening in fear I think of  Sparkle Fairy’s post of changing fear to love.  I was actively thinking of that when my feelings of panic started influencing how I was interacting with the kids.  I then had an aha moment, changing those negative emotions of guilt, defeat all geared inwardly towards me – those needed to be changed to love, love to me.  I’m working on it, forgiving myself, learning the lessons, accepting the growing pains and trying my best to be gentle with myself.

I was once a part of a small woman’s singing group that sang song’s from a group called Libana. I loved singing this song.  Please check out the original song.

I believe that we have lessons that we need to learn in this life.  Remember to be gentle with yourself as you grow and learn.

Spicy Fairy

Heyyy everyone, and happy Monday! As most of you know, this past weekend I went to an all-weekend hip hop dance convention, and let me tell you; I am feelin’ pretty SPUNKY! I mean, more than usual of course I felt like this last time I went to this Monsters of Hip-Hop Convention, and aside from learning amazing choreography and new styles of hip hop I learned more about myself. During the first day they have a presentation that two of the choreographers present called Creating Opportunities ~ it’s a company they made as well as a lifestyle they live. In a nutshell, it’s about appreciating and living your beauty, self, and life to the fullest. Aside from talking about those aspects in the dance life, they connect them to your everyday life as well. At one part in the seminar you are required to write and share 3 “I Am’s” and 2 new things you’ll do or try in order to continue to flourish and grow, so here are mine. What are yours?

If you want to be good, you have to work hard. That lesson doesn’t just apply to dancers, but for everything in life! My Magic for the day is basically all about self-discovery and dance, so I’m going to leave my Monday at this; Have fun and get it done. Now kick this week of the right way and WORK what you got!

The Inspiration Fairies

We’ve been snowed in since Monday – not a lot of snow, but just enough to make it worth hunkering down at home, snuggling up and just enjoying the new rhythm of slower days.  Two of our friends were visiting for one night, and got stuck here too (they left today – 5 days later).  We’ve taken it as an opportunity to hold sacred ceremony, engage in creative pursuits (we made 22 mushroom bowling sets this week!), delicious food, laughter, massages, friendship and spiritual chats.  It has been fun and eye-opening in many ways.

Recently, we watched a show that had been broadcast on National Geographic Channel called “Brain Games:  Pay Attention”. It was all about how our brains work and how we are only seeing a small portion of “reality” at any one moment.  (the entire series is on You Tube, btw)  As we go through our lives, we are only taking in a little bit of what actually exists around us.  There is much more out there than we perceive.

The slower rhythm of our “snow week” allowed us to pay attention to more of the details around us.  What we found was both fun and fascinating!  We discovered that the 4 adults (plus one of our boys) are all seeing similar things – numbers, times on the clock, shapes, common trends in our lives.  It made us all wonder how much more we would see if we were paying more attention.  So we did it as a group,  and these synchronicities were everywhere!

I wonder if we truly were able to take in everything around us, how our lives might be different?  How many “signs” are out there that we just don’t see?  Tim and I love seeing “signs” because it makes us feel like we are connected to the Universe.  It reinforces the notion that we are on the right path in our lives.

What “signs” or synchronicities have you seen in your life lately?  Here are some of our recent favorites:

*The number 6 appearing everywhere.  And also, the transition from 5 to 6, and 6 to 8.  I don’t know what it means yet, but it’s come up dozens of times this week.

*Triangles and sacred geometry.  How certain symbols carry over from tradition to tradition.

*Perfect timing of things – how saying “yes” to some choices led to unimaginable new possibilities.

Other Magic:

*Having our home to ourselves again!

*Getting projects done!

*Our kids have been AMAZING while being cooped up this week!

*Amazing insights about our daughter!

*A warm home to shelter us from the snow!

Sparkle Fairy and her Baby Guru

I’m making today’s theme choosing LOVE over fear because that’s what I’ve been doing the past couple of days and that’s what it’s ALL about anyway, right?! As I mentioned on yesterday’s magic, I’m just getting over the stomach flu ~ and even though the tummy trouble only lasted 24 hours, recovering from it seems to take another 48-72 hours. Last night I had a migraine (presumably from dehydration), felt terribly weak and my eyes and nose were starting to run. I went to bed as soon as my boys were asleep feeling pretty, pretty terrible. But I had decided I wasn’t going to play the victim role again ~ I affirmed to myself that I chose this experience for higher reasons, I had the tools to handle it, and I was provided for in every moment. To me it felt like a final cleansing and though I wasn’t excited to wake up to what seemed like the flu turning into a cold, I accepted it and surrendered to it. One hour into my sleep my babe started getting restless. Even nursing him didn’t settle him (which it ALWAYS does). It was clear he was awake.

I had a choice to make: I could choose fear ~ which was telling me “I can’t handle this now! I can’t believe the timing of this! I need my sleep! I’m too sick to do this! I won’t be able to handle this! This isn’t fair! I deserve a break! Why me? Why ME?!!!” Or I could choose LOVE ~ which was telling me: “LOVE will give me more energy than sleep. LOVE will be more healing than anger. LOVE will provide for me. I AM LIMITLESS. I have the tools I need. I chose this. THIS is a defining moment.”  So I chose LOVE. I brought my sweet, smiling baby downstairs, gave him a massage, some chamomile, and together we took a candle-lit bath. Afterwards I swaddled him and rocked him to sleep while watching “Splash” on TV.  And all the while, as I was choosing LOVE, I realized I wasn’t tired, my head hurt less, and my eyes and nose had stopped running. I went to sleep content. And guess what? Babe and I slept deeply and peacefully the rest of the night. It was the deep, quiet sleep where I was able to tend to his needs without even waking ~ I LOVE those kinds of sleep! This morning, though I’m not completely healed, I feel SO MUCH better than I did last night. And I know it’s because I chose LOVE.

This year of all years, I believe, is the year we ALL have the choice to make: fear or LOVE. I know which one I”ll be choosing…over and over and over again!

My Magic

* It’s snowing, snowing, SNOWING!!!

* Seeing hubby and our doggie together ~ it was sooooo meant to be.

* My boys allowing me the rest I need.

* Looking forward to NEW LEVELS OF AWESOMENESS!!!

* Hubby and I getting CLEAR on what we want!

* Thinking that this coming week is going to be a good one!

The Star Fairy

Well, it’s winter time (at least for a lot of us!) and I for one especially love to fire up the kettle, the oven and/or the crock pot on cold winter days!  This week so far I’ve been using my sourdough starter to make cornbread, pancakes and (for the first time) cinnamon rolls!  I think tomorrow I may simmer some chai, and on Friday make some soup…

We also use our thoughts to cook things up.  Are you warming yourself with thoughts of love and appreciation?  Are you cooking up some dreams of how you want your life to be?  I hope you are nourishing yourself with good stories, lots of beauty, and great connections with wonderful beings!

A lovely walk with boy and dog  in the windy chill.

Chatting a little with someone we often see on our walks.  Usually we just smile and say hello, but this time we exchanged names, and it was very sweet.

Sourdough!!!

Discussing with my hubby which would go better with his intensely dark chocolate mousse: the chocolate stout or the porter?  We went with the latter and it worked very well.

Finding the energy to do lots of dishes, even though it was late in the evening… because I love waking up to a clean (or mostly clean) kitchen!

Really enjoying reading a novel!

Time delay on posting so I can write this late evening and it’s up early in the morning, even if I’m not!

* Three people have referred to Lilah as “Nanny” from Peter Pan! I think I’ll have to start calling her that as a nickname (and watch Peter Pan again!)

* Feeding my “inner child” for lunch: grilled cheese, chips, and a pickle, followed by a chocolate chip cookie. She’s so happy and fulfilled!

* Laughing at the silly challenges my children present instead of screaming ~ okay there was some screaming, but it was fake-over-the-top-screaming that made everyone giggle.

* Chillaxin!

* Baby napping on me!

* Not wanting to throttle someone (or myself) when I was awoken yet again at 5:45 am.

* Beer!
